Kick Butts Day is an event that schools could host to inform students about the harmful effects of tobacco use. This is similar to red ribbon week. I believe this is a great program that schools can participate in because the activities are appropriate for the age level and can keep the interest of the students. In the guide the different activities include: a boxing match, carnival, door decorating contest and living billboards.

There is also articles informing people about the different changes that the government is trying to put into effect or have put into effect. One of the articles that I noticed is a $1 tax increase on all tobacco products. The money raised from this tax, if the bill passes, would be given to the school systems. This would be a great source of income for schools and prevent students from smoking because of the high costs involved.
